New Solihull Memory Singers for people living with dementia launches

Following the success of Warwick Memory Singers, Armonico Consort is delighted to announce the launch of its second community choir for people living with dementia and their carers.

Solihull Memory Singers launches on Thursday 16 January 2025 and will meet fortnightly at The Onward Club, 107 Helmswood Drive, Chelmsley Wood, B37 7NS.

Led by Armonico’s specially-trained musicians, it will bring people together in a fun, friendly and relaxing environment.  There are refreshments, fun warm-ups, activity songs and a variety of familiar tunes.

Singing has been proven to help people living with dementia to unlock memories and re-establish cognitive pathways.  The sessions help to build new friendships and boost confidence, helping people to feel more positive and supported.

The first session is free with a suggested donation of £5 per session, or whatever you can afford, thereafter (carers go free).

Armonico Consort is grateful for support from the Solihull Fairer Futures Fund

Volunteer with Armonico!

If you’re interested in joining our friendly and supportive team of volunteers, we’d love to hear from you.  Volunteers attend on a rota basis depending on their availability, helping to set up and clear away, as well as lending a hand during the sessions.
