Help us raise money to support isolated older people – donate here!
Led by wine writer and broadcaster Oz Clarke, our intrepid team of cyclists has set off on a 215-mile cycling challenge from Bournemouth to Coventry over four days, aiming to raise at least £5000 for our amazing programme of work with older people – the Great British Bike Off!
Armonico Consort’s music leaders have been producing sing-along sessions for isolated older people throughout the pandemic, when many have been suffering as their normal routines have been curtailed and they have been deprived of visits from loved ones. Working together with the Alzheimer’s Society, we have also developed a specific programme for people living with dementia. Music has been shown to have an incredible impact, helping to reconnect them with their memories, and alleviating some of the most troubling symptoms of dementia, sometimes more effectively than medication.
£5000 would fund the further training of our workshop leaders, and allow us to provide over 40 sessions of this life-enhancing programme. Please support our brave band as they travel the highways and byways of Britain – click here to donate!
