One of my proudest achievements has been the creation of the AC Academy Scholarship programme, which supports talented young people and helps them develop both their musical potential and their ambitions. This Autumn, four of our choral scholars will be studying at
Oxford and Cambridge simultaneously—an achievement that surpasses that of most schools in the UK.
I first sang Fauré’s Requiem as a boy, and many moments from the work have stayed with me ever since, lingering in my memory, and even haunted my dreams at times. It played a significant role in nurturing my love of choral music. I warmly invite you to hear these exceptional
young musicians perform this masterpiece in the magnificent acoustic of Leek Wootton Church.
