Armonico Consort’s Artistic Director, Christopher Monks, confirms that he (together with our President, Roger Medwell MBE DL, and a group of professional musicians) will be climbing Snowdon and Christopher will be carrying his keyboard on his back!
This follows a truly fantastic final leg of our Encore Appeal fundraising drive over the last two weeks. Since Christopher announced his Snowdon challenge in our last newsletter, we have raised an amazing £30,000 in just two weeks.
This brings our final Encore Appeal total to £292,499.20! Just 3% shy of our £300,000 target.

“I, Roger and our professional musicians want to honour our pledge to climb Mount Snowdon. The support for our Encore Appeal has been tremendous…better than we ever expected. We’ll be making the ascent and we’ll provide live reports on Armonico Consort’s social media platforms – watch out!”

“My heartfelt thanks to all new supporters, to our loyal Patrons, to charitable trusts for their grants, and to businesses for your generosity. The long-term commitments and the new networks we have established as a direct result of the Encore Appeal mean that Armonico Consort can continue to develop singing in schools, provide more Memory Singers sessions for people living with dementia, and give more creative opportunities to children with special educational needs”.
AC Academy Does the Royal Albert Hall’ benefits from the Encore Appeal
Thanks to your generous gifts over the last two weeks alone – totalling £30,000 – between March and June we are:
- Running 150 mentoring workshops in schools – preparing over 2,000 children for their performance on the world-renowned Royal Albert Hall stage at AC Academy Does the Royal Albert Hall on Tuesday 9 July
- Running 18 workshops for 30 children with special educational needs in inner-city Coventry
- Working with schools participating in ‘AC Academy Does the Royal Albert Hall’ from across England – schools in the West Midlands; Warwickshire; Cambridgeshire; London; Somerset; Dorset; and Telford & Wrekin.
Your generous donations to our Encore Appeal have been of critical importance to our work with young people and those living with dementia in the community and will help us to develop going forward… we couldn’t achieve any of the above without you.
From the bottom of our hearts – THANK YOU!
